Happy New Year and welcome to 2018! With the new year upon us, it means there are new possibilities, new hopes, new dreams and new resolutions for the coming year. As we've stepped into 2018 with renewed enthusiasm for the future to come, it is also a time to reflect on the year gone by and the beautiful moments shared with friends, family and our business partners.
Curry ‘n’ Pepper had the most amazing opportunity to close out the year with a trip to India to visit the CARE shelter in Bangalore. Accompanied by my nephew Naman and cousin Pallavi, we were blessed with the opportunity to experience the true compassion. An organization exclusively operated by volunteers, to save, rehabilitate and love the streeties of India. After stepping onto the property and meeting Sudha, the founder and the volunteers, we learned the love and compassion they have goes much deeper than just taking care of the animals that are housed there. What lies behind these gates is not only heaven for the animals but for anyone that has the incredible opportunity to visit.
CARE is a safe haven for the streeties of India built by Sudha and her team of volunteers in less than 3 months! It is here that nearly 6000 animals have been rescued. The shelter is equipped with
- Helpline & Ambulance service for animals in distress from 9am to 5pm.
- Inpatient facility for sick and injured animals
- A fully equipped medical unit with OPD, Operation Theatre, X Ray, Scanning facility and Laser Machine.
- Housing, rehabilitation and re-homing of abandoned animals
- Adoption of pups, kittens, dogs, cats, rabbits & guinea pigs.
- An exclusive Cattery with a separate Cat treatment unit and kitten nursery.
- Holiday Boarding facility for dogs and cats.
Their mantra is simple - educate to sow the seeds of kindness and compassion, and nothing but good will come from it. This is a very important message they share especially with the schools they work with to instill this behavior from a young age.
CARE helps save animals in need by befriending the animals one by one, giving them love, building a relationship, treating them and finally preparing the dogs and cats for adoption and a happy life with a family that truly wants to love and care for an animal in their home. Sudha’s spirit is reflected in all of those that work with and or meet her. No animal is ever turned down, they get proper care and treatment, they are rehab’d and then eventually rehomed.
It was mixed feelings of sadness and happiness to experience such a beautiful place. Sadness at how the animals are treated and abandoned and abused, but then happiness knowing that they are at a place where they can just be happy and get the needed care, without the fear of being abandoned. Thankfully Care is also a permanent home for special dogs that no one is willing to adopt. We feel so grateful for having the privilege of spending time with these amazing puppers! It was truly a lesson of true love and forgiveness despite everything these pups have been through! They are filled with so much love and forgiveness - without a doubt a true Buddha. We encourage you to visit the CARE site to adopt these amazing pups, now! Shop Curry n Pepper and support CARE!
We've been so touched by the good karma that this incredible crew is doing, that we decided to join hands and paws to support the good karma! Curry n Pepper products will soon be available through CARE, and each purchase will support CARE operations.
So do some good karma
by volunteering at the shelter,
May love and compassion be a guiding compass this new year and may all beings be happy!
